The Gallery is Grade II listed and dates back to the 18th Century. In addition to its history as a private dwelling, before World War ΙΙ it was the Thirsk Telephone Exchange and in more recent years an art gallery. Richard Bennett, who owned the art gallery, still paints and some of his local art work is displayed in the breakfast room and can be purchased from Kathryn and Steve.
It is now a Bed and Breakfast run by Kathryn & Steve with all the comforts expected in 4 * accommodation. It has the charm of its many original features, including exposed beams and fireplaces.
There is a small library in the entrance hall with a good selection of DVDs as well as local interest books, walking books and local maps you are welcome to borrow during your stay.
There is storage space for up to 2 bicycles.
Parking is available on Kirkgate. There is also a well-lit car park only 100m from The Gallery.
The Gallery is completely non-smoking and I’m afraid we are unable to accept pets. |
